Andy is a huge outdoor guy. Let me rephrase that he enjoys being in nature not so much camping and such. He has wanted to take the family to Yellowstone for a while and so we decided that would be a perfect present for his birthday. We headed out early Monday am and went up through Idaho and Island park. We made a couple of stops at the upper and lower Mesa Falls as well as Big Springs. While we were at upper falls we spotted an eagle flying around. Alex and Andy watched him closely as he dove into the water and caught a fish in his talons. We then saw him fly to the side of the mountain where the nest was along with baby eaglets. That was cool to see. The boys loved Big Springs and the crazy seagulls they had. Alex had dropped his cinnamon roll on the ground so we decided to feed that to the birds. Man they were aggressive. I thought I was going to be attacked.

After that we headed up to West Yellowstone. When we got to West we went to the Grizzly and Wolf discovery center. Everyone loved seeing the wolves and bears up close. However, Logan was just happy to be out of the car and just wanted to play on the playground.

After spending a little time with the bears and wolves we headed into the park. Our first stop was the artist paint pots which were really cool. Alex had seen the bubbling mud on tv and was excited to see it in person. We then went to see the upper falls which was breathtaking. After that we went to Artist Point to see the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. Let me just say I have no words to describe the magnitude of beauty of that place. It literally took my breath away and I was speechless. I told Andy I am not going there again until I have a real camera to take pics with. I took at least 20 and none of them turned out with the color and beauty that truly existed.

We headed back to West Yellowstone for dinner and to check into our cabin. Andy and Alex went for a walk around West while Logan and I called it a night at the cabin. Right after Andy and Alex got back to the cabin Logan went in to go to the bathroom. Well he locked himself in the abthroom and couldn't turn the handle hard enough to unlock it. We tried everything and just could not get it. Andy decided to go outside, take the screen off and go through the window. Luckily that worked and he was free. After that it was truly bedtime for all of us.
