Strong Men!!!

Andy's new workout regimen involves kettleballs. Basically they are just cannonballs with handles. Alex can lift the 53 pound ball, which weighs ten pounds more than he does. Here our pics to prove it:

Dad and Logan got into the action too. These guys are tough!!

Easter Fun!!!

We dyed our eggs on Monday for famil home evening. The boys had a lot of fun with this. Logan loved playing in the egg dye.
The Easter Bunny came to our house yesterday. We have a deal with him to come on Saturday so we can focus Sunday on Christ. The boys woke up at 7:30 and we did the egg hunting and basket looking done by 8:30. Then we were off to the city egg hunt (more of a race for candy) at 9:00 am. It was so cold!!!
After that I had to go grocery shopping so the whole fam went and hopped down the bunny trail for even more treats. Logan is not a fan of the Easter Bunny. He did wave to him from afar but as soon as we put him on his lap for the picture he lost it.
Today we dressed the boys up in their cute Easter clothes and went off to church. When we got home we had brunch, sticky buns. Then we all took an Easter nap while I got dinner ready. It was a nice relaxing day!!

We are grateful for our Savior who died for us. Without him we would be lost. What a great day to reflect on that great gift and to celebrate it.

Our Next Possible Step

Andy has made it to the final round of interviews with Teach for America We submitted our preferences for where we would like to be placed. Our first choice is Jacksonville, Florida. Our other three choices are DC, Connecticut and Las Vegas. (Thanks Andy for adding in my first choice, Vegas. I know which option the Blacks and Hepworths will be praying for :))
The final interview is an all day interview down at BYU. He will find out on April 18th if he was accepted and where we were placed. From there we can choose to accept the assignment or not. We will let you know as soon as we hear from them.

Happy St. Patricks Day

We had a great St. Patrick's Day. When the boys woke up their was gold in their room so they knew the leprechaun had come. They followed the trail to the front door where the leprechaun had left our pot of gold.

Let Us All Press On

We sang this today during church and the Spirit hit me as I was singing it. The third verse reads:

If we do what's right there is no need to fear
For the Lord our helper will ever be near
In the days of trial his Saint He will cheer
And prosper the cause of truth

In our little family we have been hit with so many trials and somehow we have come through it. Most of these trials I look back on and am shocked that we survived them. As I sang that verse I realized how blessed I am to be a part of the Gospel. We have NEVER been left alone. We are at a crossroad in our life right now and I am experiencing a lof of fear right now. I realized as I sang this that no matter if we are in Florida, Connecticut or Utah the Lord will stay with us and help us as long as we do what is right. I am so grateful for our Heavenly Father. He has alway provided light when I thought the light was gone. The Spirit is real and as long as we are tuned in he will guide us and comfort us. The Gospel rocks!!!

Our Nursery Monkey!!!

Logan turned 18 months today which means he is now in nursery. He did pretty well for the first day. He lasted 40 minutes before we heard screaming coming from the hall. We will try again next week.
I can't believe it has been 18 months already where does the time go.

Alex wanted a picture with Logan to celebrate the day too.

More of the Monkey!!

Logan has discovered a fun new toy at our house: the eliptical. He will play on this thing forever. It does not mater how many times he falls and hurts himself he just gets back on. Another love discovered is the kitty at grandma's house. He signs kitty and if he can see her he has to be right at the window. If she can't be seen he just sign kitty until someone finds her. Here is a video of his obsession.

On Friday February 29th Logan made his daddy's day. He pointed to the tv while we were watching highlights of a basketball game and said baball. Now he is trying to get the baball up the stairs to his daddy. His daddy is so proud that one of his first words was basketball.

Our Daddy is Home!!!

Technically daddy has been home a week but I am just getting around to blogging about it. We went down to Salt Lake to meet up with dad since Alex had time off of school. The Neu Grandma watched the boys while Andy and I window shopped and talked about the future. Then on Friday we went to Alex's favorite place the planetarium. We had a lot of fun!!! We then had lunch and headed home.
On Saturday Logan decided it was a good day to be sick. He was whiny and feverish all day. That meant no nursery for Logan!!! I guess we will try again on his official 18 month birthday.

Duck Feeding

We decided to go outside today and enjoy the sun after seeing on the news last night that it was suppose to be nice weather. I told the boys we would go to First Dam to feed the ducks. We woke up to a very gray, cold day. We still went out for our duck adventure. In all of my years of duck adventures I have seen nothing like what we experienced today. The ducks swarmed us and had a loaf of bread gone in about five minutes. They were not mean in anyway just persistent.
I have always said that Logan has no fear and today he proved it to me. As the ducks got closer and closer he just looked at me and kept quacking at them. It was the funniest thing I have ever seen. The ducks would peck his hand to see if he had bread and he would just glare at them. The video is the best. Don't miss the first second of the video, that is the best part and listen at the end for Logan's quack.

Alex Quotes

This is what Alex has to say about or feeding the ducks today: "I had some bread in my hands and the ducks were eyeing me. I cracked some little pieces and all of them came running at the same time and were fighting over the bread. I kept backing up and they were like feed us some bread or we will attack you. I was throwing it so they would not attack me."
We went to Shopko today to get me some new pjs. I was in dire need. I wanted to get some actual pjs as well as some jammie pants. I had the two boys with me so I went with both of them to the dressing room. When I tried on the silky pjs Alex turned to me and said, "Mom, you look like a rock star. I think you should wear those to church tomorrow."
Our Alex is a funny character and he is always saying great things. I wish we would have written all of them down. Our all time favorite quote was when you would ask him what his name was when he was about 2. He would turn to you and very forcefully say, "Alex (pause) Simpiton."
