Family Pics Take 2

My favorite is still the one were my eyes are closed but I think we have one that may work. Let us know what you think.
We also saw a deer on the way home. See the other post on our budding photographer Alex.

Our pick (I think)
Andy does not like this one
My crazy boys
Always fun to see

This is a great picture of trust and faith.

Alex and the camera

Alex has taken a liking to photography lately. He has an artistic eye so it is fun to see what he finds to take pictures of. Here are some of his latest works.
This one he is entering into this year's Reflection contest.

Family Pics

It is about time we took a new family picture. Logan was 4 months old in our last one. I had to get a picture for work and I did not have any of me. I am always the photographer. We headed up the canyon and took the opportunity to take some family pictures. I think they turned out pretty cute except my favorite one has my eyes closed. Ughh. I think we may head up to the same spot on Saturday or Sunday and try again. If you want to know who took the pic, well our trusty tripod. Enjoy take 1.
My favorite one!!

Mom and the boys
This is the best one of me but no one else looks good.

Please give me your opinions on what you think. I promise not to get offended.

Mother of the Year? Not me

I am now out of the running so there is still hope for all of you.
Today I was busy canning pears. They were already getting to the almost overripe stage so I knew I only had today to get them done. I set Logan up with some toys and I set to work. About ten minutes into the project I heard Logan whining in the family room. I was covered to my elbow in sticky so I just hollered to him to keep playing. He was still whining about a minute later so I asked him to come to me. Another minute went by and I started to turn the water on so I could get unsticky. Well Logan walks into the kitchen and I wish I would have had my camera. He had been playing with the heating vent cover and his fingers were stuck in it. So the poor kid came walking in with a heating vent cover attached to his fingers. I felt so bad for ignoring his pleas for help.

Tooth Fairy Trauma

Let me preface this story with a story. We have talked to Alex about the tooth fairy and all that she entails. I said she does have an arrangement that she will let you keep your first tooth if you would like. He said no she could have it.
Last night the tooth fairy came but it was not without some trauma. At about 3:30 am Alex comes in our room bawling. I ask him what is wrong and he says he wants his tooth back. I asked him why and he said, "Cuz it is special." I realized he was not quite awake but asked if she had come. He said yes. I followed that with how much did she leave you. "A quarter", he says. I then tell him to go back to bed and we would work something out.
In the morning he comes in and says it was not a quarter but two gold dollars. He said I thought she would bring actual dollars. I had to explain that that was what that was. He was then really excited about it. He still wants his tooth back though.

The Tooth Fairy

Alex came in my room this morning just as I was getting up for work at 4:45 am. He said mom I just woke up and my tooth was on my pillow. Can the tooth fairy still come tonight? I told him I would call her and see what we could work out. Unfortunately, she was done for the day so she said she would come tonight for sure. He is so excited about losing his tooth.

The Parties

Logan had a very fun birthday. We had a party for him in SLC and then one up here. He loved all of his presents but his fave were his new Sesame Street boom box and his basketball hoop. It was a great day!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOGAN!!!

Two years ago we welcomed Logan Michael into our family. He was such a sweet baby and has continued to grow into a sweet boy. He has a special spirit about him and it has been fun to watch as that spirit grows and develops in him.
In honor of Logan's special day we wanted to list our favorite things about our Logan.
Alex says:
1- He wrestles with me
2-He loves me when I am sad
Mama says:
1- I love the way he calls for me when he can't see me. It is a call filled with love.
2-I love the way he is always willing to give you a kiss. It is not a simple kiss either. It is a full on stick your lips to your cheek kind of kiss.
Dad says:
1-I love how excited he gets to see his daddy.
2-I love his big hugs.

Birthday Pics

With Alex it was tradition to get his pics taken at certain intervals in his life. I have tried to do the same thing with Logan. However, picture taking has changed since Alex and I don't like how they are doing it. I figured I could do a better job then the studios and it is lots cheaper.
Logan's birthday is in 5 days and yesterday was the perfect day for pictures. There is a spot up the canyon that I have wanted to take pics at so off we went. Alex came too so I got some of both of them. I am hoping someday to have a super nice camera take a class or two and do this somewhat professionally. As for now it is just a super fun hobby.

We even got some fun ones of Logan playing peek-a-boo on the fence.

A boy and his pudding

Logan loves pudding. I am afraid of what a big mess it will make but the first couple of times I gave it to him he did great. I needed to make dinner and he was being ornery so I gave him pudding and I set to work on dinner. Alex came in 2 minutes later and said mom look at Logan. This is what I found: This is how this masterpiece was created:

Corn Pickin'

Alex has had a desire to harvest corn for about a year now. I am not sure why but he keeps asking me to do it. My neighbor Sarah mentioned one time about all the corn they had and she would need help harvesting. Alex was so excited!! We went out to a field that was in the middle of nowhere and had a blast. I think Alex realized that it is a lot of work to pick corn but he still loved it. Logan even got into the action a bit. Thanks Sarah for helping his dream come

Alex did a great job of getting the corn ready to cook. It was the sweetest, juiciest corn I have ever had. You just can't beat an hour from field to table. We really need a big plot of land for a garden.

More Cousin Time

Since Alex started school the week the cousins came we had to split up the time a little bit. Lucas came up after school on Friday and stayed until Sunday afternoon. I had a lot of ideas on how to entertain them but all they wanted to do was play. Friday we did pizza and a movie. Saturday was swimming, playing and mini golf. The boys had a lot of fun being together.
The next weekend Alex went down with his dad and spent the day with Lucas again. I don't have any evidence of what went on but I am sure they had a lot of fun.

Family-It's About Time

Three of Andy's siblings went to grad school last year back East. That meant all but one of Alex's cousins left the state. It was a sad time last when they left.
In August two of the siblings came back and brought their families. That meant all but the brand new girl cousin was there. There were 7 boys under the age of 7 in one house. It was a madhouse, but it was a lot of fun. We spent time at Temple Square, doing the slip and slide, canyon cook outs, golf and of course just being crazy boys. We had a lot of fun reconnecting with everyone! There are a ton of pics so this is just a sampling of the fun.

Yes this is Logan after he climbed into the fountain. He was soaked.

Thanks Rasmussens and Martins for coming. We had a blast!!!
