Remembering Emma

On the day of homecoming we got a chance to honor Emma.  The support group up here does an annual balloon release to honor our angels.  It was a neat experience to see the balloons floating on the clouds and realize we are not alone.  Emma has a lot of friends in Heaven.

Homecoming

Homecoming weekend is one of our favorites. The crispness in the air and the new school year just make me excited. Plus I am proud to be an Aggie so anything to celebrate that has to be awesome. To make it even better this year Alex was lucky enough to be in the parade.

Hey Alex!!

That night we left Andy home to paint the kitchen while we went to the football game.  It was a horrible game but we enjoyed spending time together and cheering on our Aggies.

Happy birthday Emma!!

It is hard to believe that it has been a year since we lost our sweet baby girl.  I had decided to look at her birthday as being one year closer to seeing her rather than a year since she died.  I think that perspective really helped me get through the day.  It also helped to have had so many people help out to get dresses sewn to donate to the hospital that day.
We went to the cemetery the Sunday before her birthday with some of our family.  The boys wanted to send a cupcake to heaven for her so we made a mini cupcake and attached it to her balloons.  Logan also decided he wanted to send his balloons to Emma as well so we had quite the bouquet to send to her.  It was a nice afternoon to celebrate her life.  We also told our families that day that we were expecting a baby.  We could feel heaven very close that day.
On her actual birthday Logan picked root beer floats to have as a dessert.  We put a candle in one of the floats and sang to her.  I am sure somewhere in Heaven there was a huge party going on for her.  We love you baby girl and miss you like crazy!!

Happy birthday Logan!!

Logan had a low key day on his actual birthday since we were celebrating his birthday down in Salt Lake.  It was a preschool day so he was able to be the special person for the day.  He LOVED that.
When I asked him what type of cake he said he wanted one like Buddy made.  I asked which one and he said the one he makes that is stacked and has strawberries in the middle.  I was a little concerned over what he was expecting.  We went online and found a raspberry torte that looked good to him.  i was just hoping it would be easy to make.  Thankfully, it was easier than any other cake I have made.
We had a big party with all of the family before the BYU/Utah game that day.  We had a few relay races and just had fun playing outside.  Logan told me later that he had a great birthday.
It is so crazy that he is 5 years old.  We have had so much with him medically but he has been so tough through it all.  He sure makes life fun and loves to make us laugh.  I can't imagine our family without him.  We love you Logan!!

First day of preschool

Logan was so excited to go to preschool.  His brother had gone back almost 2 weeks before he did and he was antsy waiting for his turn.  They had an open house to let the kids get use to the school on Wednesday.  He loved seeing all the things he would be able to do at school.  Friday was the actual day first day.  Since the school is so close we are able to walk and he loved being able to ride his scooter.  He said he really enjoyed school and a lot of his friends are in the same class.  It is crazy to think this is his last year of preschool.
