False alarms

This baby is quite the jokester.  The night of April 24th I started having contractions around 6.  I went for a walk and the contractions kept coming.  Finally at 8:30 we decided to head into the hospital.  When we got there the contractions stopped.  They had us walk around the hospital for a little bit but the contractions never picked up.  We were sent home.

The next day I went to the doctor and she suggested stripping my membranes to see if things would start.  When I walked out to the parking lot I felt a gush.  I was pretty sure my water broke.  My contractions never started but my mom came up and off we went to the hospital.  They told us my water had not broken but it was more likely the gel they use when they strip the membranes. We were sent home.  I was so frustrated.  You would think that would be something they would let you know.  I was determined I would be pregnant forever.

Poetry Festival

Alex had a poetry festival at school.  He wrote all of the poems himself  and then made a power point with poems.  His class then shared them with the school.    He really enjoys creating and did a great job.

Horse feeding

There is a pasture about a mile from our house.  When we were out on our family walks we would look to see if the cows were there and see if we could get them to moo at us.  This spring the cows have been replaced by a horse.  Logan decided he wanted to feed the horse.  He was a little hesitant at first but he finally did it.

We are all ready for this baby's arrival.  Baby will be here any time now.  Andy did a great job painting the nursery.  I really like how it all turned out.

Baby shower

My awesome friends threw me a baby shower.  It was so fun to hang out and eat and unwrap cute baby things.  I didn't take any pictures except for of the loot.  Thanks to everyone for spoiling me and Baby Ras!!

Isn't this the cutest thing EVER?

Easter

We had a great Easter this year.  We kept it pretty low key and just did the typical activities.  We spent a lot of time as a family and reflected on the true meaning of Easter.  Since Emma the resurrection has gained a new depth.  We are so grateful for the knowledge of the resurrection that will allow us to see our sweet baby girl again.

Baby Animal Day

This year Alex had school during Baby Animal day so it was just Logan and I. It was super crowded so we weren't able to do everything we had in the past. We still had a lot of fun seeing the baby animals. The favorite animal was again the baby bears.   By the time we pulled out of the parking lot Logan was asleep.   That is when you know the day has been fun.

April Fool's Day

Alex wanted to help with April Fool's day this year.  We started off the morning by tying dad in his room.  He ended up just breaking the string and coming out.  He wanted to do the cake trick I did on him a couple of years ago.  I made a meatloaf in a cake pan and frosted it with pink mashed potatoes.  We also made kool-aid, jell-o with a straw in it.  Logan was not happy about the tricks at first but then he was laughing.
