Alex had school off for President's Day so I took off work on Saturday and we headed down to SLC for a vacation with dad. Luckily Uncle Sam was nice and gave us our tax refund right in time. We went down Friday night and met dad and went out to eat. Then we went to another universe and walked on the moon and Mars. It was a great adventure. That night Logan's ear decided to leak so I ended up at the doctor with him on Saturday and his ear infection is back so we are on round two of antibiotics. So Saturday was just spent vegging and watching a BYU game.
On Sunday only an hour after church we heard the cries of "I'm so booooorrrrreeeeedddd" eminating from our 6 year old. I talked daddy into keeping the sick one and Alex and I went on a church adventure. We took Trax to Temple Square and hung out there for a couple of hours. Alex was drawn to the Conference Center and wanted to see where President Hinckley had his funeral. We went on a mini tour and saw some really cool components of that magnificent hall. Alex is now very excited to go to Conference at this building. I love the Spirit that I can see in Alex whenever we are at Temple Square, that is always the highlight of our trips. He has a very powerful Spirit to him and I am hoping that I can always be the mom that can continue that Spiritual growth in him. He is an awesome little boy!!!
Then to continue our "ium" theme the Neu Grandma took us to the aquarium. We loved visiting with the sharks, petting the sting rays and finding Nemo. Logan was entranced by all of the fish but the highlight for him was the octopus. (I included a pic of this on the slideshow but I am not sure how well you can see it since we could not use a flash). After that grandma took us to lunch at IHOP (Alex's fave) and then we went to see where daddy works. Daddy was a great tour guide and showed us all over that beautiful building. Alex learned so much that the next day I told him I had to pay bills and he said he wanted to as well. I asked why and he said that he wanted a candy bar everyday at school. That is the example grandma gave him so that we could show him how a bill is made into law.
Well we are home now and all tuckered out. In fact, Logan has been sleeping for 4 hours so far and is still down. Thanks to all of those who participated in making our weekend great. Enjoy the slide show of the weekend!!!
(Just click on the link to get the show) I am about ready to beat my blog.
