I am fighting the private blog trend. I have found a lot of friends through other friends and so I do not want to close off my world so others may find me. However, I do not want the freaks of the world to find us either. My request is will you make sure just our first name is on your blog and not our last name. Thanks so much for your help!!!

I honestly have to chuckle when people get freaked out about weirdos tracking them down through their blogs, because most of the people I've encountered that have gone private are those who have plastered their own last names and locations all over their blogs themselves! So, smart of you not to do it!
You might also consider adding a sitemeter to your blog (www.sitemeter.com). Not only is it fun to see how many visitors you have, but you can see where they are visiting from and how they found you (just a little extra security for your own peace of mind).
